
Health Services Researcher: I am an experienced Health Services Researcher with a PhD in Health Services Research and Health Policy. My research focuses on Military Health System beneficiaries; Veterans; access, quality, and cost of care; delivery system reform; and healthcare workforce.
My professional journey includes supporting the Military Health System as a health services researcher and senior policy analyst. In this role, I contributed to critical studies aimed at improving healthcare delivery for military personnel and their families, addressing unique challenges in access, quality, and readiness.
I have published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented my findings at national and international conferences. I am passionate about improving the quality, efficiency, and equity of healthcare for military health system beneficiaries and Veterans, particularly focusing on addressing their unique needs and challenges.
Health Policy: I am experienced in developing health policy and providing oversight of organizational performance for health systems. I previously provided policy analysis and evaluation support to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (ASD) for Health Affairs (HA), focusing on cost and performance management in financial, audit, accounting, and health policy domains. I also have experience with health policy and oversight for the Defense Health Agency, Army Surgeon General, regional military health systems, and a major medical center.
Healthcare Executive: I am a board-certified healthcare executive with over 20 years of progressive leadership experience across various healthcare delivery settings and levels. My expertise includes critical thinking and problem-solving, communications, collaboration, leadership, healthcare operations and management, quality and safety, strategic planning, and organizational improvement.
Veteran: I served in the U.S. Army as an enlisted legal specialist and Medical Service Corps officer. My service included deployments in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 23 years of honorable service to the nation.
